Week 20 going bananas

Baby Price: I weigh about 10 1/2 ounces now and around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel —size of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, I’m measured from head to toe.)I’m swallowing more these days, which is good practice for my digestive system. Also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in my bowels, and you'll see it in my first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
We are half way baby!
Lisa: I'm going Bananas trying to figure out if your a boy or a girl, I think your a boy, but 25% of me thinks your a girl, I'm hopefully finding out this Thursday, I hope you open your legs and show the world who you are. I'm going to drink some sweet tea before the appointment so you will be squirrely and move around alot! Having fun planning the shower. I've made some really cool shower favors! Currently I'm addicted to Kyle XY it will be our last NetFlix rentals. Sad but will save some moola. Bought more Maternity cloths this weekend. Including a shirt that says Baby on it, I really wanted one of those. I watched the episode of Kendra:here comes baby this week which was the one where she delivered the baby at Clairan North which is where we are going and she weighted 166 at 9 months which is what I've weighted before baby yikes, I guess I'll never be a playboy bunny.
Shawn: Stopped at the store on the way home to satisfy my craving of ice cream sandwiches. Had Great time at Great Banquet this weekend, received a letter from baby price which made him laugh here it is.
Dear Daddy,
I’m so excited to meet you, I can’t wait for you to hold me in your arms and tell me you love me, because I love you. Dad, I want you to know I will always look up to you, teach me lots of fun stuff like, how to throw a football and how to do math problems. Read your favorite books to me like If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, Harry Potter and Ronald Dahl books. Take me to your favorite places, share your favorite foods with me, play games with me, go on fun vacations with me and teach me about the world.

But most of all dad, tell me about Jesus, how much he loves me how he created me and what he wants me to do in my life, show me Jesus daddy. Even though I will throw up on you, poop on you and cry for no reason…I will always love you.

Love Baby Price,
PS
Mom loves to think about me pooping inside her.
We are half way baby!

Week 19: I say Tomato

7 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces

Baby Price:
While your baby is continuing to grow, the development that is occurring is very specific. For example, the kidneys are making urine, and hair is beginning to sprout on his/her scalp. The parts of the brain that are responsible for the senses are specializing. If you are having a baby girl, she already has 6 million eggs formed in her ovaries. The ears and eyes are in the right place now and the eyes may flutter under their closed lids.

Lisa: 19 weeks

Two new milestones... 1) The sneeze/laugh and pee and ... 2) Maternity cloths: here comes the belly. I'm adding to the registry, very fun. Selling lots on Craig's list for the baby fund, I think we are going to get a ceiling fan with the $. Sold the rocker that I once loved, but am looking for something more modern. I had another dream... Shawn and I were adopting two little black girls but not from Haiti, from Baby's R'us I think it's all the registering I'm doing.

Shawn: My favorite quote this week: "Your looking more pregnant all the time."

Week 18: Bell Peper

Your baby is now about 6.29 inches long and weighs 5 ½ ounces.
Baby Price: A protective covering called myelin is beginning to form around his/her nerves. This covering will continue to form up until your baby’s first birthday. If you are having a little girl, her fallopian tubes and uterus have positioned themselves into the correct place. If you are having a little boy, then his genitals may be noticed on your next ultrasound. However, many babies do not like to cooperate during the ultrasound, and the genitals cannot be seen. (lets hope that doesn't happen)

Lisa: I'm feeling something that I've never felt before is that the baby? I think so! I'm so excited to feel it, I mostly feel it in the car, it likes to jam to the radio. Waking up at 3:00 and not sleeping after that is getting old, I guess it is God preparing me somewhat. I'm in awe of my chest it is as big as ever, I'm going to be a milk machine! We found some old baby pictures of each of us so it will be fun to see who the baby looks like. I'm feeling very loved by friends who want to throw baby showers for me, it's awesome of them.

Shawn: Touching the belly lots more and saying "That's our baby, we're going to have a baby." I love that he is so excited about it. We gave away lots of stuff on Craig's list today, man if you say free they come and get it, we had 10 emails in 10 mins. Doing lots of cleaning out still and being so helpful, our closet looks awesome! We registered at Baby's R Us this weekend and he got to play with the gun again.
Next Apt: March 11th! will it be a boy or girl? Only 16 days left to vote.

Week 17

Your baby is a little over 5 ¾ inches long and weighs 4 ounces

Baby Price’s umbilical cord is not only lengthening but also becoming thicker and stronger for these last 23 weeks. Your baby’s sense of hearing is also developing since the ears have fully formed and moved into their final position. Your baby is also beginning to form adipose or fat tissue. This will help him/her take on a more normal appearance by filling out the fine features
that he/she has. Fat is important in helping regulate the body’s temperature and metabolism.

Lisa: Still waiting and longing to feel some movement. I took out a ruler and 5 3/4 is long! It's really growing in there, too bad it doesn't weigh more since I gained 2.6 lb this week, I'm pretty sure it is mostly the chocolate I ate for v-day. It feels like time is going fast for this pregnancy, I can't believe I'm almost half way.

I lost my grandma today, I'm so sad that she won't get to meet baby Price, but I'm glad I got to share the news with her and will never forget her reaction. She has been ready to go home to Jesus for awhile, but I will miss her dearly. I loved you so much Grandma Judy and am blessed to have know you for so long.

Shawn: Cleaning out closets to make room for the baby, it's totally awesome to see all progress he has made. I love my husband. V-day was great we made ice cream, and had dinner with the Uptons. He feels like week to week is going fast but looking back it seems longer, and July seems a long way off. We had fun registering at Target this weekend, he researched a car seat, I like the one he picked, good job dad!

Week 16 apt.

Dr.Flora was delivering a baby when I got there so I had to wait a bit longer and the apt. felt rushed. She said everything is looking good, she measured me at 16.5 weeks even though my due date says, 16 weeks today so maybe it will be a little earlier than July 29th? My blood pressure was a little low but not out of the ordinary. The heart rate was 151 last time at 12 weeks it was 168 (but I had a sweet tea before the apt.) Dr.Flora thinks it might be a girl, we'll see March 11th (27 days from now but who's counting?)

Week 16

Baby is 5.31 inches and weighs 2 ½ ounces.

Baby Price: is preparing for a growth spurt over the next several weeks. Baby’s head is more erect now than it has been in the previous weeks of pregnancy. Ears and eyes are situated in their final positions. These three things are giving your baby a more “normal” appearance than he/she has had up to this point.Several of the more complicated body systems are also beginning to function including your child’s urinary and circulatory system. Your baby’s heart pumps around 25 quarts of blood per day.

Lisa:
So excited to see the Doctor on Thursday and hear the heart beat again, I'm going to try to record it so I can post it to the blog, then I can listen to it every day, yes I'm obsessed. I have lots of questions for the Doctor like is it normal to sneeze this much? I'm not sure I like the glider chair I bought off Craig's list so I'm going to see if I can sell it, if not I'll keep it. I can't make up my mind with anything for the baby lately. One thing I do know...the baby has a spot at Noah's Ark day care yeah! I'm so excited to feel baby kick that will hopefully happen in the next few weeks.

Shawn:
He was awesome with Kip this weekend! He is going to be an amazing daddy, he says we make a great team, I'm just glad he's the team leader. Pretty sad about the colts loss last night, I got a blue glow bracelet and he was swinging it around during the game it was awesome to watch. He still loves talking to the belly, which kind of tickles some time.

Week 15: Appledapple

4 ¾ inches long and weigh a whole 2 ounces.

About Apple: Your baby’s skin is very thin, and his/her blood vessels can actually be seen through the skin. Your baby’s ears are continuing to develop externally and continue to look more like normal ears. Your baby’s eyes are continuing to move towards the nose from the sides of his/her head. The baby’s bones are beginning to ossify, which means that if an x-ray was taken the skeleton would be visible. Babies at this age have also been caught sucking their thumbs on ultrasound pictures. The baby can start hearing you soon.

Lisa:
I heart Craig's list, I got a glider this weekend and even got her to come down $25 from the asking price. I have been sitting in the glider and dreaming of holding the baby. I feel like the idea of what I want for the nursery is coming together. I'm so excited to buy a crib and pick out sheets and drapes and really give baby Price an awesome welcome into our home. So I guess if it's a boy this rocker will be perfect, and if it's a girl it's light enough blue to work, or I'll just put a blanker over it.

> So tired, slept 10 hours Tuesday night the baby is sucking all my energy.
> Why am I getting headachs? All the blood going to baby not my brain?
>Friday I actually wanted to work out and I did! Then I ate stake.
>Can tell I'm getting more emotional.
Shawn: Loves the belly, starting to talk to it more. Everyone is like "Take good care of Lisa" how should he respond to that, Nope? Well he is doing a great job even if he is a little jealous of my pregnancy pillow and mimicked rubbing it's back instead of mine cause he couldn't get to me.
